Red Bridge Station is the result of a significant collaborative effort between the developer and Payson City to create new zoning for a higher density development, and a Public Infrastructure District (PID) to finance the critical infrastructure needed to make Red Bridge a reality.

Through a $24 million bond offering, Red Bridge PID No. 1 began applying its bond proceeds to finance critical water, sewer and road infrastructure to serve the Red Bridge community as well as other key growth areas in Payson City.

By May 2022, Red Bridge received approvals for zoning and super pad plat. PHASE 1 site plans are currently working through process. A new culinary water well was developed (and paid for by Red Bridge) that doubles the water capacity for Payson.

Red Bridge Station is located in Payson City, off the 800 South exit on I-15 in southern Utah county. Payson was founded as an agricultural colony in 1850 and was named after pioneer James Pace. A center of grain and food-crop production, Payson later hosted several manufacturing plants producing motor homes, boats, and other vehicles. The growth of the Salt Lake City metropolitan area brought a large influx of new residents beginning in the 1980s.

Santaquin City is located just three miles south and the two communities have much in common, including a combined Chamber of Commerce. With respect to commerce and many public services, Payson and Santaquin function as one community. The 2023 combined population of Payson and Santaquin was approximately 46,622, a 31.76% increase from 2020.
